Does Drawing A Weapon Provoke An Attack Of Opportunity Pathfinder
- #1
This may seem like a dumb question, but in my groups we've ever played that if you draw a weapon while in an opponent's threatened area it draws an assail of opportunity confronting you.
A actor was asking me if this is mitigated past the Quick Draw feat. I went to expect it upwards in the SRD and I could not even find the AoO part, which confused the heck out me.
I know we will go on to utilise this dominion regardless, merely I honestly always thought information technology was an actual official 3E rule. All the same. the move actions table on the SRD says "no" in the AoO column.
Tin can someone confirm this for me? Is this something that changed from 3.0 to three.5? Has my grouping only suffered mass delusion and convinced ourselves it was a existent rule?

I can't remember what the three.0 rule was for it but in iii.5 drawing a weapon invokes no AoOs. I'm not sure why only this is something that I'g constantly looking upward because I can't think for sure what the dominion is.
Maybe my and your defoliation is because sheathing a weapon does draw an AoO? And sheathing and drawing are closely related.

Drawing a weapon does not provoke in 3.5, nor in 3E.

Cartoon a weapon does not provoke in 3.v, nor in 3E.

Thank you. I gauge I should make this explicit as a firm rule and then.
Nosotros've been playing that style for 8 years, works for us.

You could alter it and have it be some major innovation that spreads through your earth.
"Y'all know, I bet I could whip out my sword without endmost my eyes and mooning my enemy."

Heh, it'd be darn difficult to ever make an Iajutsu-based Fighter in a game where drawing a weapon provokes.

You could modify information technology and take it be some major innovation that spreads through your globe.
"Yous know, I bet I could whip out my sword without closing my eyes and mooning my enemy."
I know this is some kind of joke, just I don't become it.

Well, I ruled that Iajutsu (which in my campaigns is but another name for the quickdraw feat), mitigates the AoO. And then it would be possible.

As in, "If drawing your sword provokes an AoO, you're doing it incorrect."
There just needs to exist an NPC who teaches anybody in the globe the right way to depict your sword, without dropping your guard, and you tin can start using the rule from the book without breaking continuity
